A Very Merry URT-mas Spectacular
HAPPY URTkey DAY!!!
The URTkey… Last year we had a shirt that took your breath away… This year; The URTkey, begin the elusive creature that it is, got away from us…
Hope you all have better luck catching the URTkey and give thanks to all the bitchiness we got going on! Thank you Pilgrims and Indians for never fighting each other.
Love,
URT.
URT SPOOK
The URT SPOOK lived up to its name over Halloween weekend. We got the flood lights out and burried the generator and invited anyone and everyone who dared to enter the ocean at night for a truly unique surf session. To make it even spookier, all participants were in costume and some were in the official URT SPOOk shirt. I caught glimpse of a gorilla,a knight in shining armor, a hula girl man, a shark, a bandito, a orange cone, and even ol’ Fidel Castro showed up to give his approval.
Our friend Drew McGill was out there snapping pictures, if you want to see more pics check out his site HERE.

Come Hell or High Water Premier
When our flagship store Emerald City asked if we would like to have a couple tickets to go to the west coast premier of “Come Hell or High Water,” we lost it! After being painfully teased with the trailer we couldn’t believe we were actually getting to finally see it. We met up with our good friend and talented photographer Drew McGill who ended up snapping all these event pics for us.
The premier was held at Encinitas’ La Paloma theater and was packed with human torpedos. The movie was short and sweet. No distinguishable plot or hook, just good ol’ fashioned body WOMPing. The theater was filled with all sorts of hooting and hollering as those in attendance voiced their approval. I’ve never seen so many bodysurfers in one area and was proud to be part of the group. After the movie the film’s director, Keith Malloy, came on stage with the star of the show Mark Cunningham and fielded questions from the audience. Kelly Slater even got a question answered. Also, in attendance was Rob Machado, Taylor Knox, and Jack Johnson, just to name a few.
I loved the movie and will recommend it to everyone I meet. Unfortunately, I didn’t know how bad I was at body surfing until I saw what true professionals looks like. It was well worth the bubble burst.
